Our participation in the Expo

We are delighted to be involved in the first NHS Innovation Exposition, which will be held at the ExCel Centre in London on the 18th and 19th June 2009.

The Expo will be a unique event that brings together the brightest and best thinkers and innovators from the public, private, voluntary, academic, and scientific healthcare communities both here in the UK and overseas.

We will have an opportunity to celebrate some of the best innovation practice from the West Midlands.  We are planning to showcase the work of the Birmingham OwnHealth programme, a telehealth system whereby support is given to people with chronic illness in their homes to manage their conditions better.

We will also be introducing West Midlands Digital Services which will go live in early 2010, and promises to revolutionise the way local health services provide information to, receive feedback from and interact with NHS staff and patients, carers and the public.

We will also be showing a number of films developed in local organisations highlighting the innovative work taking place.

NHS West Midlands is also delighted to be showcasing the work of the Institute of Digital Healthcare, a unique collaboration with academia and industry to strengthen the region’s capacity to translate the latest digital technologies into healthcare advances.
