Innovation Masterclass 18th March 2009
We joined up with SHAs in the East Midlands and East on England to hold an Innovation Masterclass on behalf of the Department of Health.
Over 100 staff heard from David Nicholson, NHS Chief Executive and from case studies from the three regions, including Birmingham OwnHealth and a film of the Wellness programme in NHS Stoke on Trent from the West Midlands.
West Midlands NHS Innovation Competition 2009
The aim of the competition is to identify and reward innovative individuals and teams within NHS Trusts and PCTs in the West Midlands region, and to promote innovations which have the potential to lead to improvements in healthcare for patients in the region and beyond.
The competition will also raise awareness of innovation in the NHS across the West Midlands. A prize fund of £10,000 will be shared between a number of winners and runners-up. Prizes will be paid to the employing Trust with the intention of them being ring-fenced for the development of the winning innovation. Winners will be selected by a regional panel of judges, drawn from the NHS, industry and academia. The awards ceremony will take place in Birmingham on Thursday 26 November 2009.
