Inaugural meeting of the East of England NHS Innovation Council. The Innovation Council brings together senior leaders in the NHS, industry and academia to champion innovation across the east of England.
November 2009
The first 10 Innovation Scouts were trained. The role of the Innovation Scouts is to seek out and support innovators within their organisations and to spread ideas from elsewhere.
January 2010
The Regional Innovation Fund is launched. £1.6 million is available for projects that will support people with LTC’s. The emphasis being on supporting the adoption and spread of good practice.
Gareth Jones joins the NHS East of England team as Head of Innovation

The SHA hosts a workshop in integrated diagnostics where clinicians and representatives from the private sector explain how new technologies can bring huge benefits to patients
March 2010
A clinical conference where delegates hear about the learning from the deep dives in Suffolk, Mid Essex and Norfolk. These are pathway redesign projects looking at Long Term Conditions (LTCs); urgent care and planned care in a very systematic way to determine how new pathways can be rapidly implemented.
