New dates for Healthcare Innovation Expo
The second Healthcare Innovation Expo, originally planned for October 2010,
has been rescheduled to the 9th & 10th March 2011. The Ministerial team
have decided that an event of this importance should look to the future, not
the past and as such, must reflect and amplify the narrative of the White
Paper: 'Equity and Excellence: Liberating the NHS.'
This new date will allow us to create an event that will help the NHS
understand and plan for the future landscape, and will focus on: creating a
patient-led NHS; shifting resources to promote better healthcare outcomes,
building stronger NHS accountability; promoting public health and reforming
social care.
The Expo will be the largest event of its type in Europe and is an essential
element of our work to drive the widespread adoption and diffusion of
innovation across the health and social care system. The Expo will bring
together the best innovations from the private, public, academic, scientific
and third sectors to provide practical ways to improve quality of patient
care and productivity.
