Institute of Digital Healthcare

The Institute of Digital Healthcare is a five-year £4 million collaboration between WMG, NHS West Midlands and Warwick Medical School designed to deliver real and lasting benefits to patients and the public through the application of innovative digital solutions to a wide range of healthcare scenarios.

Showcase Content:

The Institute of Digital Healthcare will be showing practical and exciting example of how digital technologies can be harnessed and exploited for healthcare applications. Featured on the stand will be Virtual Surgery with Laparoscopic and Haptics demonstrations, Rapid Prototyping for Healthcare, and Serious Games (Virtual Reality) in Childhood Development. 

The following projects will be demonstrated at the NHS Innovation Expo via live demos on the stand, speaking/seminar slots and presentations on the Innovation Wall.

Current projects include:

• Serious games for paranoia, eating disorders and phobias
• Digital technologies to assist patients and carers
• On-line health tools for the public
• Virtual reality medical training

WMG also runs a number of other projects where expertise in manufacturing processes is being applied to the healthcare sector.

These include:

• Sound in hospital environments
• Rapid prototyping for healthcare
