The 3M™ Clean-Trace™ Clinical Hygiene Monitoring System is a rapid adenosine tri-phosphate (ATP) based detection system that helps assess the hygienic status of hospital surfaces and equipment by indicating overall biological contamination.
The system is comprised of 3 key elements:
- Clean-Trace clinical ATP swab
- Clean-Trace NG luminometer
- Clean-Trace data trending software
It is the only ATP system with Department of Health Rapid Review Panel Level 1 recommendation. Trials of the system have recently been completed in seven Showcase Hospitals across England as part of the Healthcare Associated Infections Technology Innovation Programme.
